HPC's Moffitt new PAA President

HPC Associate Robert Moffitt, the Krieger-Eisenhower Professor in the Department of Economics in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, has been elected as the next President of the Population Association of America.  This is a well-deserved honor for Robert, whose research on poverty, welfare, and inequality has already earned him many honors, including a MERIT award from NICHD. Professor Moffitt also will be inducted as a new fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences on October 6 in Cambridge, Mass.   Robert’s term as President-Elect begins in January 2013, and he will become President in January, 2014.  We look forward to playing a large role in helping him to organize the 2014 annual meeting of the PAA in Boston.
